Vintage Finds

Every year my family takes a week vacation to Chautauqua Lake. We stay in two cottages right on the water, eat dinner outside every night, and relax.

This year, while driving through Jamestown, I noticed a giant Salvation Army, and I knew I couldn't leave without stopping in, and I'm very glad I did.

This location was very large, most of the bulk in ladies tops, a decent sized dress section, and an average sized shoe section. In total I purchased one dress, two pairs of pants, and three tops for around $17.

I also stopped in an antique store somewhere around the lake, and found the worlds most perfect and versatile handbag for $10. Overall a very successful trip :)

Vintage Slips

Vintage clothing is practically all I wear, not to sound pretentious or anything, but I find vintage clothing cheaper than anything else, and there's nothing like the feeling of slipping on a vintage dress and having it fit perfectly. Of course I buy items from fast fashion stores, but for the most part, my closet is 50's, 60's, and 70's skirts, tops and dresses.

One of my passions is vintage foundation pieces. I adore vintage lingerie, slips, nightgowns, bras, anything pin-up girl inspired, etc. I am always on the hunt at thrift stores; people just really don't know what they are getting rid of.

I also learned to sew over Christmas break. I have been making little boudoir sleep sets, usually a top and a pair of bloomers, with the occasional matching hair bow, for many months now.

These are my favorite vintage slips, though I acquired two more just today from a friend of my grandmas.

I also scored an abundance of beautiful lace trims at Savers today, so I must get sewing!
